Best Atlanta-area cities to find a 4-bedroom home (2026)
Cities ranked by how much of their for-sale inventory has four bedrooms or more.
Live figures from active listings, updated October 8, 2026.
When you need four bedrooms, a city where most listings are condos and two-bedroom homes wastes your time. This list ranks each city by the share of its active listings with at least four bedrooms, so you know where the choice is.
Bedrooms are only one measure of space. Check the median size and price shown under each city, and look at layouts — a fourth bedroom can be a small bonus room.

How this list is built
Ranked by the share of active homes for sale in each city with four or more bedrooms; the home count shown is that share applied to the city's exact active count. Covers houses, townhomes and condos (land and lots excluded) in the cities we serve, among cities with at least 60 homes listed. Recomputed daily; for the largest cities the figure comes from a sample of up to 1,000 active listings.
What families should check
- School zones. Attendance lines are drawn by each district and can change. See school zones in Georgia and confirm with the district for any address.
- Commute and activities. Drive the school run and your commute at the times you'd actually do them.
- Neighborhood rules. HOAs can restrict fences, play equipment and parking; read HOAs in Georgia.
- Space you'll use. Compare suburbs with the biggest homes.
Common questions
Where can I find a 4-bedroom house near Atlanta?
Start with the cities at the top of the list above, where four-bedroom homes make up the largest share of today's listings.
Does this ranking consider schools?
No. It ranks by home supply only. Check the attendance zone for any specific address with the school district.
Are 4-bedroom homes more affordable farther out?
Generally the outer suburbs offer more bedrooms for the price, but compare commute, taxes and HOA costs too.
Can a basement room count as a bedroom?
It depends on how the listing describes it and local standards for egress and closets. Ask your agent and inspector before relying on it.
