Where to find homes under $300K near Atlanta (2026)
Cities ranked by how much of their for-sale inventory is priced under $300,000 today.
Live figures from active listings, updated October 8, 2026.
For many first-time buyers, $300,000 is the line. This list ranks each city by the share of its homes for sale priced below it, so you can see where a sub-$300K budget has the most to choose from rather than one or two listings.
A high share means choice, not necessarily the home you want. In some cities the under-$300K homes are mostly condos and townhomes; in others they're older detached homes. Open the city page and filter to see which.

How this list is built
Ranked by the share of active homes for sale in each city listed under $300,000; the home count shown is that share applied to the city's exact active count. Covers houses, townhomes and condos (land and lots excluded) in the cities we serve, among cities with at least 60 homes listed. Recomputed daily; for the largest cities the figure comes from a sample of up to 1,000 active listings.
Making a sub-$300K budget work
- Look at loan programs. FHA, VA and USDA loans all allow small or no down payments for eligible buyers.
- Ask about assistance. Georgia's state program and local programs can help with down payment and closing costs for eligible buyers. See down payment assistance in Georgia.
- Ask the seller to help. Closing cost credits are common at this price point; read seller concessions.
Watch the condition
Lower-priced homes are more often older, so the inspection matters more. Budget for the home inspection and, in older homes, a termite letter and a look at the roof, HVAC and water heater ages.
